On the piano go to the very middle of the keyboard, measuring where the midddle is with a tape measure if you need to. There are three black keys, followed by two black keys, followed by three black keys. The white key between the first three black keys and the two black keys is MIDDLE C. Play it. Once you have identified middle C, the rest is easy!
On the music you have two clefs. This is just a word describing 5 lines of music. The treble clef is the one on top with a sign a little like a UK £ sign. This is what you play, at the beginning, with your right hand. The next bit is not difficult, but you do need to concentrate. Play middle C again. Now, draw a little line under the five lines of the trable clef. Put a big fat dot on this line. This is middle C, which you know how to play. Make a dot in the space and play the next white note, D. You are learning how to read music notes for piano as you write and play these notes. Put a nice fat round dot on the first line of the trble clef and play the next white note - this is E.
The next space on the clef, and the next white note is F. Write it in and play it.
After this, draw a dot on the second line of the clef and play the next white note, G. Follow this with A, the next white note and the next space on the clef. The third line on the clef is B and the third space is C again, but this is not middle C. This is an octave (8 notes) above. Play middle C, and then play the white notes up to high C. Make sure that you can read them on the treble clef. You are learning how to read music notes for piano. On the base clef, which is written with a sort of capital C at the start, you read the notes for the left hand. Start again with middle C. Draw a little line above the top line of the base clef. This is middle C. Now going down from middle C, play the first white note. This is B, below middlenote. C and is the first space above the bass clef. The first line below middle C is A - the next white note and the first line at the top of the base clef. Go down the white notes in the same way as you went up the white notes in the treble clef, until you reach bottom C - the 2nd space from the bottom. You are now able to play, with the right hand, from middle C up to top C, reading the notes on the music as you play, and, with the left hand, from middle C down to bottom C, reading the notes as you play.
